500 Days of Summer...and stuff

So, I just spent my whole day holed up in my basement watching 500 Days of Summer. Featuring the OMG-SO-ADORABLE Joseph Gordon-Levitt and a personal favorite of mine, Zooey Deschanel. Without giving much away (for those of you who haven't seen it yet), I'll say that it was gorgeously and very artfully done. I enjoyed it immensely just for the camerawork. But honestly the best part was the soundtrack. EXCELLENT, excellent soundtrack. I mean like, every single song i sang along with. like a retard. Anyway, the story was based on the relationship of Joseph Gordon-Levitt's character, Tom, and Zooey's, Summer. Heart-wrenchingly realistic. I fell in love with Tom and could relate remarkably well (I regret to say) to the somewhat-hateable character of Summer. Also, there was quite possibly the most spot-on music scene I've ever seen in which Joseph Gordon-Levitt's (gosh i hate typing that name) character dances in the streets to "You Make My Dreams" by Hall & Oates. Just. Amazing. So, great music, artfully done, painfully realistic but still enjoyable. Go watch!

Chromeo

Recently in love with their songs Bonafide Lovin, Fancy Footwork and Mama's Boy. I get in these techno-y moods sometimes, nothing can stop me. I have to rock out. Show me that fancy footwork.

A really beautiful girl

So, if any of you dont know who Karen Peris is... she's the singer of the band The Innocence Mission, a duo of herself and her supremely talented husband Don Peris. She possesses an angelic quality to her voice which absolutely confounds me. I met her once before seeing the band play a couple years back, and she was as kind as her voice hints at. Also disarmingly beautiful, in a strangely approachable way. Favorites include 'Follow Me' and 'Lakes of Canada'.

Lets make this cool

So, I just went to Ulta in nothing but an over-sized tee shirt and boots. No makeup and unwashed hair. Just to freak out all the pretty primp-overdosed beauty queens there. I bought some conditioner so they didn't throw me out. Such a satisfying trip.

MGMT

Officially artist of the month for me. MGMT, a fantastic band featuring the ever-exquisite Andrew VanWyngarden and Ben Goldwasser. Favorite tracks include 'Electric Feel' and 'Time to Pretend'. Boogie down!

I have a question

Do playground swings ever get old? I've found that swinging is something of a lost art dispite the excellence of it. Stupid children.

Hathead

So, I recently counted my hat collection and realized that i have 40. 40 hats. I'm proud and also a bit bewildered at the amount of head-coverings I've accumulated over the years. hrrm.

Johnny (OMIGOSH) Depp

Did you really think I wouldnt post something on him? The day had to come. Johnny Depp, possibly the most adored man who ever touched the screen. Seriously. I'm sorry guys, but is there any girl who doesnt adore him with every cell composing their being? So cheers to J Depp for being a peculiar individual. Now I have to go watch Benny and Joon.

Bye

Looking for love in all the wrong places

Penelope Tree

A true tribute to unconventional beauty.

Perspective

All I can say is I adore imperfections.

Dance it off

One of my first profound thoughts was this- When in doubt, do the can-can. Especially in museums with old ladies watching.

I miss warm

Raw Music

I always wished I could play piano. its one of those instruments that seems to effortlessly express the feeling coming through the pianist's fingers. Like a channel. So so so so beautiful.

Ever feel like you're being watched?

Yum

I've thought long and hard about this, and I've decided....

....I want to be an ice-cream truck driver when I grow up.

No Joke

I went to a friend's wedding, and my food was served looking like this. I swear to god I didn't touch it. But....needless to say, it needed to be documented.

Young and Old

Leah and Ezra

Anarchy

Paul Newman

...That is all.

Robert Redford

He traveled across europe by himself looking to live as an artist... And just happened to become world-famous for being an immensely talented actor. He didnt take any crap. ...Not to mention his devastating face. But if I could find a guy who just dressed like Robert Redford, I would be satisfied. ...hehe

Kitties and Springtime

Bloody Noses

Here comes the dry air.... ughhh

Wings

Torture

Bullet

Photostrips

I love love love them. You sit in a cramped space and pay like 6 bucks for pictures that you know are going to come out hideous. so, I ask myself... How can they possibly be so much fun? Why do I keep going back? One of life's big questions. Right up there with what happens when we die.

Message to all- Have fun with Sammiches

Windows

Is it just me, or do the most profound thoughts always pop up when you're looking out the window of a car or train or some sort of transportation? Car windows are inescapably linked to daydreaming, which is in itself linked to random profound thought. lets all take a few minutes to look out a window displaying fast-moving landscape and get lost for awhile.

Clive Owen

Seriously. Is there anyone cooler? Who else has delivered a baby and had a gun fight simultaneously in not one, but two separate films?

Morning Hair

BLAH!

The Hendrix Apple

An old painting of mine that I did at like 4 in the morning under bizarre fleeting inspiration. To the ever-so-beloved Jimi. Too bad you were such a druggie.

I'm actually posting this

Really.

Hey

Turns out there's an actual Mojo Marinade. Fill a bathtub with it, hop in, and 12 hours later you're Chuck Norris!! (AND its only 69 cents a bottle. Is that a deal, or is that a deal?)

RISD, oh, how i miss thee

From one of my classes at Rhode Island School of Design a couple summers ago. I had the best teachers ever. And I made friends with the dude who worked at the cafe across the street. We had the same Beatles shirt. Good times.
